Kindergarten-Days (“K Days”) are a a special collaboration between Countdown to Kindergarten and the Boston Public Library, designed for families with children entering kindergarten for the first time in Boston Public Schools. The K Days take place at most Boston Library branches around the city, and families are encouraged to attend the location that works better for them.
What To Expect During K-Days with BPL
The Kindergarten Days are a two-hour-party at the local library branch in which you can expect:
Fun Activities
Children will participate in kindergarten readiness activities like read-alouds, and circle time, along with entertainment and tasty snacks.
Learning Together
Children will practice important skills for kindergarten such as sharing, making choices, and following routines in a supportive environment.
Helpful Information for Families
Parents, families, and caregivers will receive valuable information about joining BPS for the first time such as transportation, policies, uniforms, and more.
