Countdown to Kindergarten Classroom

Countdown to Kindergarten is a model classroom at Boston Children’s Museum.

The classroom invites children and their parents to a typical Kindergarten experience, providing skill-building experiences to help kids prepare for school. Little ones can ride a school bus, pack their backpacks, make friends, practice taking turns, and gather around for storytime. The classroom includes a math and science area, dramatic play space, a reading and writing corner, and a creative arts area. Adults can find resources to support their child’s curiosity, social and emotional maturity, independence, and physical health and ask staff members questions about preparing their child for school.
