BOSTON AFTER SCHOOL AND BEYOND
Boston After School & Beyond (Boston Beyond) was formed in 2004 as the
successor to Boston After-school for all Partnership and the Boston
2:00-to-6:00 After-School Initiative. Boston Beyond is a public/private
partnership to organize the many networks and organizations that make up the
Out-of-School Time (OST) field into a coherent system with the goal of
expanding access to high-quality programming for all of Boston's families.

BOSTON CENTERS FOR YOUTH AND
FAMILIES
On July 1, 2002, the City of Boston's human service functions were
merged into a new department called the Boston Centers for Youth & Families
(BCYF). This exciting reorganization was designed to streamline and improve

BOSTON CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
The Boston Children's Museum exists
to help children understand and enjoy the world in which they live. As an
early museum experience for children, the environment is informal, but the
purpose is serious. The museum wants children to grow up feeling secure and
self-confident with respect for others and the natural world. Boston
Children's Museum encourages imagination, curiosity, questioning, and

BOSTON CONNECTS
A
school-community-university partnership linking the Cluster Five Boston
Public Elementary Schools, the YMCA and other community partners, and Boston
College to coordinate resources to serve over 3,200 school children and

BOSTON MAIN STREETS
The Boston Main Streets program focuses its
efforts on providing merchants and community residents with the tools for
their historic commercial districts to compete in today’s market. The
Main Streets program helps the local districts capitalize on their unique
cultural and historic assets while focusing on the community’s economic
development needs.

Medical Center provides a full spectrum of pediatric and adult care services

Boston Partners

BOSTON
PUBLIC HEALTH COMMISSION
The nation’s
first health department and traces it’s roots back to 1799 when Paul Revere
was named the first health officer. Back then the board of health was
formed to fight a potential outbreak of cholera. Two hundred years
later, that tradition continues through the Boston Public Health Commission.

Established in
1848, the BPL was the first publicly supported municipal library in America,
the first public library to lend a book, the first to have a branch library
and the first to have a children’s room. Today, the BPL boasts 27

award-winning website and an online store featuring reproductions of the
BPL’s priceless photographs and artwork.

For the past 18 years, Build the Out-of-School Time
Network (BOSTnet) has been working with parents, providers and policymakers
to build out-of-school time opportunities for children, youth and families.
In December of 2004 BOSTnet, formerly Parents United for Child Care, adopted
its new name to reflect its focus and expertise in the field of
out-of-school time.

CHILDCARE CHOICES OF BOSTON
Child Care Choices of Boston (CCCB) is
the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCRA) for Boston, Chelsea,
Winthrop, Revere and Brookline. As a CCRA, Child Care Choices of Boston
provides and maintains a key role in making child care work for everyone,
regardless of cultural, linguistic or ethnic background. We offer support,
resources, technical assistance, training and child care expertise to
families, child care providers, employers and the larger community.

of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States, Children's

The Family

JUMPSTART
Jumpstart is a national
non-profit early education organization that combats the rising trend of
preschoolers in low-income communities entering school without the skills
needed to succeed. The program operates 57 sites throughout the nation, each

offices support the work of each of these sites and ensures high quality
implementation of the Jumpstart program.
