When
and where do you register for kindergarten?
How
does the school choice system in Boston work?
Who
is eligible for transportation services and how are they obtained?
How
do families identify special needs assistance?
How
do families locate before- and after-school programs?
What
is new in the Boston Public Schools?
Countdown to Kindergarten provides
Information Sessions that help to answer
the above questions and more. Information Sessions provide tips on the
transition and kindergarten selection/enrollment process, along with
suggested activities to help families prepare for a successful entry into
kindergarten.
Sessions are designed for organizations that provide
services to
families with young children, such as Childcare Providers, Healthcare
Providers, Social Service Agencies, Parent Groups, Community Associations
and more.
Information Sessions can be held directly with parents; however, it is
highly effective to hold sessions with providers and/or an organization’s
staff, who can learn how to incorporate transition activities and tips into
their daily interaction with families.
